I have recently been served child support papers via mail, yet my ex and I have never been to court for child custody, and not had anything officially set up. I have our daughter 6 days of the week, yet the papers say I never have her and I am the non-custodial parent. How does this happen,, what do I do?

It’s a serious matter for me. My son’s father and I have tried working things out, several living arrangements including co-habitating as without actually being a couple but we cannot live peacefully together so we must live apart but we both still want to be apart of our son’s life. His father wants to arrange so that our son will be with his father one week, and I the other, and so on and so forth.
But this arrangement doesn’t seem right me, as if our son needs more stability… jumping around and trying to get used to two…
My boyfriend has joint custody and now has his daughter an equal amount of time that his ex-wife does. They basically have a week on week off. (we have her every Wed, Thurs, night and every other Fri, Sat, and Sun night. Does he still have to pay child support, do you think that we could get it lowered if so? Also who is now the custodial parent if they share an equal number of days?

He knows me as mom now i’m grandma. I’m fighting for grandparenting time. I get to see him every other week for 3hrs with bio mom with us. Nothing in the courts care about what is best for the child, just the bio mom ( my daughter) How can I petition for the courts to do what is best for the child ? Every one says it’s up to the mom.
