My son has turned 16. He has taken driver’s ed, but here they require 6 months of driving on an instruction permit before he gets his license. That won’t happen until December. It now looks like he has just been hired for his first job. It is kind of down the street but probably a good 1.5 miles if he needed to walk it. I work on the other side of town – so it becomes difficult for me to take him with any consistency. What resources have you used to fill this transportation gap?

We have neighbors that are just unapproachable, unreasonable or negotiable. We have a son that is 10 with High Functioning Autism/Aspergers. Our neighbors have 2 boys, 8 and the other is in preschool.

We started having problems as soon as we told them that their preschooler is too young to be over here playing with the older kids. Their preschooler doesn’t listen and we have to constantly monitor what he does.
