Should child adoption be genuinely free of charge in the USA?

Question by Mulberry3: Should child adoption be genuinely free of charge in the USA?
Laws in the United States forbid the sale of children. Baby selling for instance is a very serious offense. Yet it is not possible in the vast majority of cases to adopt a child in the United States without spending thousands of dollars on a variety of fees and costs, even when children are adopted through public (state) agencies. Many thousands of children in the United States who are available for adoption remain unadopted. Should adoption in the USA be genuinely free of charge?

How do you feel about breast feeding in public & until what age should kids stop being breast fed?

Question by Peace, Love, and Happiness: How do you feel about breast feeding in public & until what age should kids stop being breast fed?
I don’t really mind when women breast feed in public as long as they’re covered up and don’t go around flopping their boobs around like a few women I’ve seen.

I belive that by the age of 2, mothers should officially stop breast feeding their children. If I was a mom I would officially stop at age 1. Some mothers go far enough to breast feed until their child is 5 or 7 which is…

Q&A: How many months should a newborn be before he/she can go on a flight?

Question by Steena: How many months should a newborn be before he/she can go on a flight?
I’m planning to bring my newborn to another country to visit the father of my child.
I’m still pregnant though and my due date is just a week ahead.
Application for passports for infants is just a one-week process and I’m planning to buy a ticket immediately once I got the passport.
How many months old should a newborn be before he/she can go on a flight?
What should I expect or be aware of in flights with newborns?

Should parental leave be equally available to both mothers and fathers?

Question by c’mon, cliffy: Should parental leave be equally available to both mothers and fathers?

Sorry, I guess I should have said “paid” parental leave. My understanding is that the 12 weeks guaranteed under the FMLA is unpaid, but I guess it wouldn’t make a difference to peoples’ answers.

And Sarah, you must have your antagonism radar turned on high. I did an answers search under parental leave and couldn’t find this question. Perhaps you could point it out all the times it has been asked before. I’d be interested in the answers.

Benefits of Breast Feeding : Why You Should Breast Feed

Benefits of Breast Feeding : Why You Should Breast Feed

Once you have given birth, breast feeding is the most important thing you are able to do to protect your infant and help to promote good health. Best of all, breast feeding is absolutely free.

Along with saving you money on Human Milk Replacement, breast feeding can help you to keep your medical bills down as well. Infants that are fed with cow milk seem to get sick more often and more severely than infants that are breast fed. They also get more ear infections, respiratory tract infection, and other…

When should I start preschool for my daughter?

Question by Amy27: When should I start preschool for my daughter?
She is turning 4 in April and I’m wondering about preschool. She has never been in any kind of day care & hasn’t been exposed to babysitting much. I’m worried about putting her in preschool, but don’t want her to be behind when school starts. I also know she could use the social interaction but am afraid preschool will be too much for her since she isn’t use to being away from home that much. Any thoughts/suggestions from other mothers of preschoolers?
She is 3, but will turn…
