Should a grade school aged child be looking for an extracurricular activity so it would look good for college?

Even if said child is not interested in anything besides playing with his friends and reading? He gets enough exercise and does exceptionally well in school. He refuses to take part in any group or activity that he will be signed up for.
The boy is going into the 6th grade which is still elementary.

Every family that decides to homeschool must tackle the issue of grading. Do grades help you assess your child’s progress? Poll: When does your child or you go back to school?

I’m posting this twice, once in Grade Schooler and once in Adolescent.

What grade is your child or you going in to?

I’m going into the Tenth Grade, and we start 2 weeks from Wednesday.

August 5th is the date.
Yes, we do go back early. AND, we got out June 3rd! :( Yes, I’m in America. Kentucky (Western, the part where we DON’T marry our cousins.)

The Virtual Schools of Tomorrow are in the Florida Schools Today … With More on the Horizon

The kindergarten through 8th grade virtual school was created in the Florida schools in 2003. It was sold to lawmakers as a great way to save money, offering coursework to replace on-campus teachers and classrooms at a savings of $700 per student. Only students who had attended the Florida schools the previous year were eligible to participate at a cost to the Florida schools of $4,800 per student. The savings over physical classroom instruction for the Florida schools was expected to be $700,000 with a 1,000 student enrollment in the virtual school program.
