Question by : In what ways can a teacher legally discipline a child?
I had heard that in Ontario, under the Education Act, a teacher can discipline a child in the same way that a parent can. I don’t know if that’s true but that’s why I am asking the question…
So I want to know if it is true, and then if yes, what does it mean by the ways that a parent can discipline the child, or if no. then in what ways can the teacher discipline the child??
It’s almost as though homeschooling was invented for a special needs children’s education. Kids afflicted with ADHD, autism, dyslexia or Asperger’s among other learning difficulties can all benefit from being taught at home by their parents. Some public school systems can afford to hire trained therapists for these fields, but the extra attention and time afforded a student at home by a loved one can make a big difference in a child’s ability to learn. It’s just natural for a parent to be able to teach their own child…

How Should Educators Be Trained To Teach Special Needs Children?
Educating special needs students can be a challenging yet rewarding experience. Educators who work with children with learning disabilities need to be specially trained to know how to handle particular situations and personalities. People who work with or are responsible for teaching special needs children need to first understand the different learning disabilities, attention deficits, developmental delays, behavior problems, and other distinctive disorders that each child may suffer from. The degree of disability of each student varies but could include severe difficulties such as dyslexia, autism, and multiple disabilities.
