Studies show that 90% of all single parents are women. In 1995, almost one-third of all black families lived in single-parent homes with children. At the same time, only 8% of white families and 7% of South Asian families were single-parent households.

The mother of my step son has had all her children except her 4 month old removed for child abuse. They are almost ready to take the 4 month old they’re just waiting to find placement for her. I am just wondering what are her chances in Michigan of her getting her children back? She has already been through 4 parental and child development classes and ran from 2 other counties that tried to file petitions on her. They told us to go ahead and enroll my step son into school. How is it fair that infants and toddlers get loving homes and children and teens don’t. Imagine going through adolescence without parents to ask about puberty, dating etc. Shouldn’t they get a second chance with people who love them?
