Should single adults be able to adopt?

I just saw a short news segment on adoption, with many people saying that single adults should not be put high on the list when it comes to adoption…wouldn’t it be better for a child to be adopted into a loving home with either one or two parents, rather than staying in foster care for their adolescent life? What do you think?

How Will I Be Able To Afford Child Care?

I didn’t start looking into the cost of child care until I became pregnant. Oh my GOD…its freakin’ expensive. I have a good job and all that, but I don’t see any possible way for me to live normally and pay for child care. I checked the dept. of social services in my state and I don’t qualify for assistance. I’m really starting to freak out. I have no family in the area to help me with child care. Are there any single moms out there that can tell me how its possible to afford child care?

How Old Must You Be Able To Start Baby Sitting?

I love children and would like to start baby sitting but I know it’s a lot to take on. I was also wondering how old you must be to be able to baby sit. I know 16 is the average age to be able to work for somebody but does this same principle apply to baby sitting? Thanks!

What Kinds Of Things Should An Incoming Kindergarten Student Be Able To Do?

My daughter will be in kindergarten next fall. I was wondering about some of the things she should be expected to do. She cannot read yet, but she knows her alphabet and the sounds letters make. She is starting to sight read (recognize words). She is very verbal, and she has terrific fine motor skills. I guess I am most concerned whether or not she needs to be able to read by day one.
