This review is from: Maybe Days: A Book for Children in Foster Care (Hardcover)
A great book for explaining to children exactly what the “system” involves. I highly recommend foster parents and their foster children to read and discuss this book together. It covers every frustration and question a foster child has. It also has some very valuable information for foster parents. I plan on getting one for everyone of my foster children.
This book has been invaluable to children who have been in our care. We read it to/with each new child, who seems refreshed & relieved after hearing it. We often re-read it…& refer to it when tough, unanswerable questions arise. In fact, the kids here now can identify when they are asking a question that is currently unanswerable…& they’ll all chime in, “Maybe Days!” with a smile. I’m not suggesting that this book fixes problems. I’m saying that it helps the kids cope with the loose ends & unanswered questions. BRAVO!
