It’s good to pay attention to toy recalls, but you can’t live in fear, and don’t take all the toys away! Check out the recalled toys and remove the ones on the list. If any of your kids other toys are chipped or in bad shape, examine them carefully, and keep up to date with the recalls. But toys are really strictly regulated despite the recent recalls.

I don’t think it is something to panic about and boycott toys all together, I agree that if you have a toy on the recall list you should send it back, but if you obsess about it, you are only going to worry yourself more, hey most of us as children played with toys that would be deemed dangerous to today’s standards and we turned out fine. Let him be a child, let him play!

The key is to buy toys that have been on the market for a while. That way if they’re dangerous they will have had time to discover it and recall accordingly.

they did not even have toy recalls when we were kids and most of us turned out ok. Our cribs used to be lead-based paint. I think kids develop some immunities to being around things-not lead. It is scary but i wonder if most of it is just for money and exposure. Were there any “safer” toys back in the day or did all these things happen and just go un noticed? I would take it with a grain of salt and not worry too much.

    I think you’re too overprotective

Sure seems like everything coming out of China these days is poisonous, but it’s no reason to get frantic.
