Where Do You Store All Your Kids Toys?

I have toys in the basement and in their room. I just find it hard because there are so many. I have a 4.5 and 3yrs old boy.

I use those plastic drawer carts from Wal-Mart. They usually have 3 drawers in them. They are great for keeping toys organized. All legos in one drawer, matchbox cars in another, etc…
We use a toy box for the larger trucks and things that don’t fit in the drawer carts. My husband also added shelves in the playroom for board games and other things.

Ha – everywhere. In the family room corner, there is a 3 wide drawer plastic bin. Anything that can’t fit in the bin is on the floor next to it.
Living room – we have 2 pieces of furniture with cabinets that have toys in there.
Bedrooms – each child has a small 3-drawer plastic bin in their closet. One has a toy chest, the other 3 stackable bins and one has an armoire with 2 shelves of toys.
We were putting the toys in the family room in big clear plastic bins, but it was hard for my tot to see what was in the bottom and hard to pull out. The drawers are great, and now she plays with them more.
I also have toys in the crawlspace and rotate every so often if necessary.

Oh boy. We live in a small apt, so that’s hard. My daughter’s bedroom isn’t big enough to have toys in it, so they are in the living room. When she was younger, I got one of the toy bin racks to put all of her toys in. I also got a small plastic square tote for the bigger toys at the time, with a lid she could take off and put on easily. Just recently (my daughter is now 4 yrs.) I found a cute plastic basket at Target with handles and wheels on it, perfect for storing toys and easy to roll around to make picking up more fun. I only got one for now, but they are supposedly stackable if you position the handles a certain way. Other than that, the big toys stay on the floor off to one side of the room. Things like games and puzzles are put on a shelf we have in the room.

i have an apartment and i have a 3 yr old and a newborn on the way so with limited space i store them in those plastic bins from walmart with the clear drawers (the ones that are 3 drawers high). cheap and small enough to sort the toys in. my son knows where everything is! no pulling out EVERY toy to get to the one at the bottom of the toy box. i think im still going to put some in storage though as my sons toys are in those, and the drawers under his bed, and in the new babys dresser and i dont have room to have them all out in the open.
looks like they dont have the cheeper ones anymore that are white, but they have navy and pink. i think they have them at target too.

I have actually bought some cute home “decorative” storage things… hmmm, hard to explain. Basically, I bought some wicker basket looking things, and an extra end table to match the decor… haha, but they’re all filled with baby/kid toys.
I guess what I’m saying is, I hide toys anywhere! But I make sure to buy “adult like” storage compartments so my home still looks nice and organized… even if it really isn’t.
In addition we do have one toy box in the living room, and a small plastic storage container in his bedroom.
*Edit* Thumbs down for where I store my kids toys? PMS must be going around…

    Big Toy boxes.
But if you have a ridiculous amount of toys then you should consider down sizing.
There is not way they can play with all of them. It’s also going to be easier on you.. the more they accumulate the more you are going to have to usher them to clean up (assuming you make them a part of clean up and not just mess up). haha.
To do this with out conflict though… wait til they are asleep one night and go through and just… downsize for them. They will more than likely never notice. :)

I put all of her toys in a gigantic tub, in her toy box, and on kiddy selves. I keep the bins in a child proof closet because I don’t want her getting them with out my permission. I put the selves out so she can play with her safe toys when ever she likes.
