Question by Mulberry3: Should child adoption be genuinely free of charge in the USA?
Laws in the United States forbid the sale of children. Baby selling for instance is a very serious offense. Yet it is not possible in the vast majority of cases to adopt a child in the United States without spending thousands of dollars on a variety of fees and costs, even when children are adopted through public (state) agencies. Many thousands of children in the United States who are available for adoption remain unadopted. Should adoption in the USA be genuinely free of charge?

Question by Unreal!: What are some stigmas surrounding older child adoption?
I’m thinking of starting a nation wide older child adoption initiative, and I’m weighing out some obstacles. I would like your opinion on what some stigmas are and how we can change that. Also your thoughts on the current foster care to adoption process and how we can make this better for the children. Thanks!

In April 1975, just before the fall of Saigon, the U.S. government launched “Operation Babylift,” a highly publicized plan to evacuate nearly three thousand displaced Vietnamese children and place them with adoptive families overseas. Often presented as a great humanitarian effort, Operation Babylift provided an opportunity for national catharsis following the trauma of the American experience in Vietnam. Now, thirty-five years after the war ended,
